Experience: Must have 3 – 10 years of hands-on experience.


USS Technologies looking for PL/SQL Developer with,
• Relevant degree such as Bachelor's and University Degree in Computer Science, Technical, Engineering, Education, Software Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics.
• Proven experience as a PL/SQL Developer, with expertise in data migration within the banking sector.
• Strong proficiency in PL/SQL programming language, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
• Extensive experience with data migration tools and techniques, such as Oracle Data Pump, SQL*Loader, and custom PL/SQL scripts.
• In-depth knowledge of relational database concepts, data modeling principles, and SQL query optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with banking industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to data migration, such as BCBS 239 and GDPR.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and collaboration tools, such as Jira or Confluence.
• Professional certifications in PL/SQL development, data migration, or project management.
• Prior experience with database migration projects involving large-scale, mission-critical banking systems.
• Knowledge of data integration tools and technologies, such as Oracle GoldenGate or Informatica.
• Experience with cloud migration platforms, such as AWS Database Migration Service or Azure Database Migration Service.
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Skills

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand migration requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, and migration timelines.
  • Design and develop PL/SQL scripts and utilities to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from source systems to target databases during migration.
  • Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and discrepancies, and develop strategies to address them during migration.
  • Create migration plans and documentation, including data migration strategies, test cases, and rollback procedures, to ensure smooth and efficient migration processes.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to verify the accuracy and completeness of migrated data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, software engineers, and quality assurance testers, to coordinate migration activities and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and execute performance testing scenarios to assess the scalability and efficiency of migrated systems under various load conditions.
  • Monitor migration progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices from migration projects to improve future migration processes and ensure knowledge transfer within the organization.
  • Experienced in the Development and support of Java Web Applications and services as specified by our business partners
  • Exposure to powerhouse or any other 4GL language, core Java is an added advantage
  • Be the go-to expert for Oracle and PL/SQL
  • Participate in coding and enhancements
  • Tune, script, and extract, transform, and load
  • Support daily business operations related systems
  • Run systems manually (test files, re-runs, ) for exception cases
  • Development and support Applications and services as specified by our business partners
  • May serve as technical project lead
  • Use research, proof of concept, spike testing, to drive technology roadmap and make technology recommendations
